Hibox and Liberty Latin America Enhance Guest Experiences across Latin America

Turku, Finland, 11th April 2024Hibox Systems, a subsidiary of the Accedo Group, has been chosen by Liberty Latin America (LLA) to deploy its next gen hospitality solution, Smartroom, in hotels across several of its Caribbean and Latin American markets. LLA is a leading telecommunications company with operations in Latin America and the Caribbean, providing communications and entertainment services to residential and business customers.

Hibox Smartroom is a comprehensive hospitality TV and multi-display system that enhances the guest experience by providing entertainment, information, and communication services. It allows guests to watch TV and use streaming services just as they do at home and includes casting functionality to allow guests to stream movies and music easily and securely from their own devices to the hotel TV. In-room tablets can be used for watching TV, streaming, and playing games as well as to request and book hotel services such as in-room concierge, room service, and spa treatments. Hibox Smartroom has add-ons that integrate with housekeeping and maintenance to enable efficient management of daily activities as well as guest communication and alarm systems.

Smartroom has initially been installed in hotels in Costa Rica and will be rolled out to other markets later this year. The services provided to the hospitality sector by LLA are part of a wider set of services that manage the critical communications, hosting, and data needs of hotels and the broader hospitality sector.

In addition, Hibox Systems’ enterprise communication solution has been chosen by LLA to replace its existing digital signage systems for all of its business customers. The cloud-based solution connects an organizations’ content to a consolidated system, providing a one-stop shop for delivering information to employees across all relevant devices.

Andreas Öhman, CEO, Hibox Systems commented, “In the age of digitalization, providing an enhanced customer experience is an increasingly critical consideration. We’re thrilled to be working with LLA to deliver a world-class solution, enhancing the experience of customers within the hospitality and wider business sector in the region.”

Derek Koecher, Vice President Product, Liberty Latin America added, “Hibox Systems has the experience and expertise needed to enable us to meet our customer’s requirements, quickly and efficiently. Our hospitality customers need a high-quality solution that offers guests a modern, online TV system combined with interactive services. We look forward to continuing to work with Hibox Systems to roll out the solution across other regions, and to replace digital signage for our business customers.”
