manifold CLOUD Wins Digital Media World’s Gold Award in Virtualization

Solution recognized for its innovation and role in helping push the industry forward

Frankfurt, Germany – 9 January 2024 – manifold technologies, provider of service-oriented software solutions for Tier-1 live broadcast productions, has announced that its manifold CLOUD software-based, live production router, multiviewer and audio/video processing software is the recipient of the 2023 Digital Media World’s highest-level Gold Award in the Virtualization Category. Entries are judged on their ability to help broadcasters, service providers, producers, and others in the M&E community adapt to the evolving content production and distribution landscape. Winning solutions are chosen based on their innovation and commitment to push the industry forward.

“We are incredibly proud to have won a 2023 Digital Media World Gold Award for manifold CLOUD,” exclaimed Erling Hedkvist, sales & business development at manifold technologies. manifold CLOUD has the potential and capability to change the way Tier-1 core infrastructures are designed and built as it’s the only solution that provides the benefits of cloud computing and virtualization such as self-healing, service-based architecture and on-demand capabilities while retaining the performance our customers expect for Tier-1 live broadcast productions.

“We are honored to be recognized by Digital Media World for our innovative solution and dedication to the industry.”

manifold CLOUD met the criteria for the Gold Award with its simplified workflows that are designed to provide users with access to an on-demand pool of configurable live production functionality through a single-sign-on web UI. The true live production cloud solution can handle the most demanding live sports, entertainment and news productions while providing the benefits of scalability, resiliency, quick deployment, and unified control.

manifold CLOUD delivers an eco-system of live production functionalities as services including compression, multi-viewing, routing, up/down/cross conversion, audio/video mixing, colour correction, and colour space conversion. Designed to run on COTS Intel FPGA acceleration cards from multiple manufacturers, services are created and configured on-demand within a private cloud environment and automatically assigned to an accelerator card.

manifold CLOUD takes advantage of the fast development cycles of COTS chip and server manufacturers which enables customers to lower the capex costs while at the same time saving up to 90% of the power utilization when compared to CPU/GPU based offerings.

Services are grouped in clusters that can operate simultaneously — each supporting an individual cluster, such as a sports event or news show. In the event of a hardware or link failure, services are automatically restored on another accelerator card for maximum operational continuity. manifold CLOUD brings the advantages of cloud — scalability, commodity hardware, automatic provisioning, resilience, and efficiency while supporting large, live uncompressed workflows with subframe latency and far less power consumption than CPU systems, making it a cost-effective, eco-friendly solution designed to bring today’s broadcasters into the future.
